Why is our landfill waste so small?

2nd Mar 2008

Our land fill waste is low because we actually recyle everything possible and the kitchen waste is also very low because they have a waste disposal unit and also are very supportive of our efforts to keep the waste to a minimum.  Our waste is mainly crisp packets and choclate wrappings although the children are actively encouraged not to bring these into school!  There was an increase in litter last week   (week 3) because we have a footpath through part of our school and we collected a large amount of litter from the surrounding hedgerows and the corners of the field!

We are in charge of running the project

7th Feb 2008

This is Sam and Elliot from Maesydre School introducing ourselves. We are
in charge of keeping up to date with everything we are doing for the
project.
So far we have distributed information about the project to everyone
involved in our school and we are all determined to make a real effort to
reduce our waste by getting everyone involved.
We were a bit suprised at how much waste we have collected over the week
but now that we are up and running we are certain it will be better next
week.

(Note from Ian Mitchell) Well done Sam and Elliot you were the first school to get their results on line!
